What to Check Before a Long Islamabad Drive
Motorway trips and hill routes from Islamabad stress tyres, brakes, and cooling systems. Run through this checklist before you leave.
Tyres and pressure
Check tread depth, sidewall damage, and tyre pressure (including the spare). Under-inflated tyres overheat on long motorway runs and reduce fuel economy.
Brakes and fluid levels
Test the brake pedal feel and listen for squealing. Top up engine oil, coolant, and washer fluid if low. Soft pedals or grinding noise mean a brake inspection before you travel.
Battery and lights
Confirm headlights, indicators, and brake lights work. If the engine cranks slowly, have the battery and alternator tested — especially before night drives on Murree or motorway routes.
AC and cooling
In Islamabad heat, confirm your AC cools properly and the temperature gauge stays normal in traffic. Warm AC or overheating on short test drives should be checked before a long trip.
